RULES

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official.

The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specification herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final!

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF YOU AND YOUR KART!

 

PIT AREA

No pets or bicycles in the pit area. This is for your child's safety and your pets safety. No alcohol is allowed in the pits, if you are drinking in the pits you will be asked to leave ! Anyone caught using drugs will be banned forever. This will be strongly enforced! Remember these rules are for your safety!

 

ALL CLASSES

1. Frames must be of kart configuration. Not to exceed 90” in overall length. NO EXCEPTIONS. Kart not to exceed 350 lbs. including full tank of gas.

2. Tires must be kart type only. Not to exceed 6” in diameter.

3. Cages are mandatory. Must be for protection of driver. Not for looks or wing mounts.

4. Wing sides must stay within 3” from outer most edge of kart. No sharp edges or too long of bolt. Overall length 48” maximum.

5. Uppermost part of kart and wing not to exceed 72”.

6. Bodies can be any material, except wood. No sharp edges or protruding parts.

7. Wing, hood and tail piece are mandatory in all classes.

8. No bars, other than regular Nerf bar, may extend out past outer edge of tire on either side of kart.

9. Noise:. Must meet 98dba . Karts in violation may not race until standards are met.

10. ALL KARTS MUST DISPLAY 10” NUMBERS ON RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF KART AND WING . Numbers not legible will not be scored.

11.Duplicate numbers only in open class. Duplicate numbers must include a letter.

12.Numbers must be displayed on contrasting background.

13.Safety committee and track officials’ decision is final.

14.This is open wheel racing. No front-end cowcatchers. If in doubt, see officials

15. All drivers under the age of 18 must provide a notarized minor’s release to the scorekeepers.
In addition, when parent or guardian is not in attendance, drivers must provide a designated guardian form.

16. Any other organized class must have a minimum of 6 karts and be approved by promoter.

17. Tires must be kart type only. Not to exceed 6” in diameter. Right Rear Spec is (QRC55,Rocket Boy 55, or Hoosier  D-55 )Spec only on 125 ,250, Intermediate 500, Sportsman and Open.

18. Fuel: any commercially available gasoline , no fuel additives, no methanol!

 

SAFETY

1. Brakes must be in good working condition at all times.
2. All karts must have seat belts and shoulder harnesses. Shoulder harnesses must be mounted in a way to restrict forward body motion independently of seat. Lap seat belts should be mounted on frame. Cut or frayed seat belts will not be allowed. This entire rule will be strongly enforced.

3. Approved neck braces and arm restraints are mandatory. Wrist restraints must be attached to lap belt and worn below the elbow.

4. Helmets: Snell or DOT approved only.

5. Aluminum high back seats are MANDATORY. The top of the seat should be at the middle of the driver’s head.
A. Seat mounts.
1. Securely mounted to the frame.
2. No excessive holes.
3. Any suspended seat is to have safety cable attached to seat.
4. All drivers must maintain a working fire extinguisher in their pit area.

5. All karts must have a 6” nylon tie attached to spark plug wire.

6. Minimum standard for roll cage (tubing thickness):
A. All classes ¾” .083 chrome molly or 1” .06 chrome molly or 1” .083 steel.
B. No exotic steel.

7. Driving apparel: Racing suits highly recommended.

8. No sharp or protruding objects on any part of the kart.

9. Roll cage must be securely fastened with a grade 5 or better bolt, in at least four spots.
A. Driver’s body must be completely inside roll cage.
B. Roll cage height minimum of 2” clearance above driver’s head.

10. Fuel line location cannot be closer than 2” to any of the exhaust system at any time and shall not be above the exhaust. If closer than 2”, fuel line must be insulated. Fuel line must have ample slack for cage movement. Must be petroleum grade fuel line.

11. Fuel tank location: Out board mounted fuel tanks must have metal protection, particularly fuel petcock .

12. Suicide doors: No suicide bars. Side bar must open from the rear. Left side protection is recommended.

13. No axle protrusion beyond wheel rim.

14.Tail piece protection: If the top of the tail section protrudes above the seat, tail must be padded. Suggested padding: Plumbing foam. Tail section must be securely attached to the frame.

15. Smoking in pit area is not recommended. Use common sense.

16. Pitmen are not allowed on racetrack or infield while race is in progress. Violators will result in their kart being docked positions, one lap or disqualification.

17. During red and yellow flag,  WORK ON KARTS ON RACETRACK IS PROHIBITED.

18. SPEEDING IN THE PIT AREA will result in a $50.00 fine and/or loss of points. Officials and Safety Committee members are authorized to issue fines.

19. Any Official is permitted to remove karts from track due to unsafe conditions to driver or other karts.

20. Safety Committee and Track Officials’ decision is final.

21. Karts will be inspected using the following safety list. Immediate – must be fixed same day. Secondary – must be fixed by following race date or pay $25.00 fine. Failure to fix items by third race will result in suspension of kart.

ALL FINES FOR SAFETY VIOLATIONS MUST BE PAID BEFORE KART CAN RETURN TO COMPETITION.

Any Official has the authority to disqualify a kart for safety violations.

RACING RULES & ETIQUETTE

1. Green Flag: The entire track is open for racing. Passing will not be permitted before the green flag is displayed, at designated point. Single file starts will be at MEDIUM SPEED, until the lead kart begins to race. At this point the green flag will be displayed and racing will begin. All karts must pass between the wall and the cone before a pass can be made. NO PASSING BEFORE THE CONE !

a. Double file starts. The two lead karts must stay side by side, at MEDIUM SPEED, until reaching the start cone. Failure to do so will result in both karts sent to the back of the pack.

2. Red/Yellow Flag: Restart race. This on the first lap only. Restarts only on false start.

3. Yellow Flag: CAUTION.  All karts must hold their position and come to a parade lap speed. Failure to do so will result in being sent to the back of the pack. Single file formation.

Red Flag: STOP AS SOON AS SAFELY POSSIBLE.

a. Revert back to previous lap for lineup.
b. Red flag may be used on the last lap and scoring will be running order on previous lap.
(with kart causing red scored accordingly).

c.
FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE RED FLAG WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

5. Blue/Yellow Flag: MOVE OVER. To inform slower moving karts that leaders are about to pass. Move over WITH CAUTION.
6. Black Flag: PROCEED center of the track for consultation. Kart will cease being scored from time flag is displayed. Anyone who does not obey this flag will have all points and monies for the nights racing taken, and could include suspension. If you are black flagged in the feature or heat you will score no points for the feature or heat, black flag means disqualified!  
7. White Flag: ONE LAP TO FINISH.
8.Checkered Flag: Race is official , all karts must pass under this flag to be scored.
9. If a Kart has a MINOR problem on racetrack and an Official can easily fix it, kart will resume position.

10. Jump starts will result in a loss of two positions from original position before jump.

11. Drivers who are involved in or the cause of a yellow or red flag will start in the back of the pack. The Three SPIN rule is in effect.

A. If a driver is bumped or drives into the infield  or off the track and comes out on the track in an uncontrolled manner 

(I.E. drives into or out in front of  the pack of oncoming karts) THEY WILL BE BLACK FLAGGED!!! THIS RULE WILL BE STRONGLY ENFORCED!

12. NO REFUNDS issued once kart reaches track.

13. THE FLAGMAN HAS CONTROL OF THE RACETRACK! HIS DECISION (right or wrong) IS THE DECISION THAT WILL BE  SUPPORTED BY RACE OFFICIALS AND WILL BE FINAL! 

UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

1. Fighting on premises will result in permanent suspension. Drivers are responsible for the actions of their pit crew.
2. Any display of unsportsmanlike conduct (on or off the track) will result in a
FINE, SUSPENSION, IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM RACE AREA, POINT PENALTIES, OR ALL OF THE ABOVE.
3. Rough driving will result in docked position, fine or black flag.
4. Pit crew members observed verbally or physically abusing drivers will result in loss of accrued points for their driver and/or fine
, NO EXCEPTIONS!

OPEN

 Age limit: 18 years old & up

 All exceptions must be approved by promoter

 Must have complete and working clutch

Motor: Dirt bike style, Single cylinder, single carburetor (550cc max 2 stroke 575cc on four strokes)

 EFI allowed on  4 strokes only

OPEN Weight minimum 450 lbs. includes driver

 SPORTSMAN CLASSES

AGE: 18 years old & up

All exceptions must be approved by promoter

 Must have complete and working clutch.

Motor: Dirt bike style, Single cylinder, single carburetor(550cc max 2 stroke)

 Weight minimum 450 lbs. includes driver

500cc INTERMEDIATE

AGE: 14 AND UP 

All exceptions must be approved by promoter

STOCK MOTOR RULES

1.STROKE: Must remain stock

2. BORE: Can be bored to 80 over

3. HEAD: Head must retain the stock appearance

4. PORTS: No porting must retain factory stock ports

5.CARBURETOR:Must be a standard bore stock carburetor

6.IGNITION:Must have factory stock ignition

7.WEIGHT: Kart and driver must weigh 400 lbs.

Must have complete and working clutch

 


125 cc CLASS

 Age limit: 10 & up  All drivers must be approved by promoter

 A notarized minor release is mandatory. A new release is needed for every race season.

MOTOR RULES
 125 Motor – 125cc not to be larger then .080 over which is a 56mm piston!

 Motor must be from a production dirt bike.

Must maintain stock OEM stroke!

Must have complete and working clutch. NO SLIPPER CLUTCHES!


Weight minimum 350 lbs includes driver.

 PROTEST RULES

1. Motor may be protested for $100.00. This fee to be used for professional inspection.

a. If motor is found to be illegal, protestor may be reimbursed.

b. Motor may be held up to five (5) days for inspection.

c. Drivers (125cc class) parents of those drivers may be the only persons eligible to protest.

d. Officials may spot check motors at any time.

2. Illegal motors will be fined.

First Offense: $100.00 fine, loss of points for that race.

Second Offense: $200.00 fine plus loss of accrued points.

Third Offense: Kart and driver disqualified for the remainder of the race season.

3. Parents/Guardians are responsible for fines assessed to their minor drivers. All fines must be paid before driver will be allowed to return to competition.

BOX STOCK CLASS

 Chain guards are mandatory. Appropriate design to prevent injury to arm.

Box Stock Age Limit: 5 and up (Any exceptions must be approved by race director).
